New York Lodge 911 of the Fraternal Order of Police was chartered on May 25th, 1992 with 15 original members from the Garden City Police Department and established as “Garden City Lodge # 911”. Over the years the Lodge grew in numbers and came to include members from various other local law enforcement agencies and departments. The Lodge also came to accept Associate Members into the Lodge. Associate Members are non-law enforcement people comprised of family members and friends who support the ideals of law enforcement and are sponsored by an Active Member of Lodge 911. On May 23rd, 2011 the name of the Lodge was changed to the “Law Enforcement Officers Lodge # 911” to be inclusive of members from the different agencies and departments as well as the types of members.

Over the years, our membership has been able to network with members of other Lodges both in New York and across the country for professional, social and emergency purposes. These diverse contacts continue to prove an invaluable part of the fraternalism of Lodge 911.

Lodge 911 has been involved in many programs and events over the years and our Lodge was one of the first in the country to have a Lodge car and a Fraternal Order of Police Honor Guard. I am proud to say that many members of the Lodge 911 Honor Guard went on to become members of the current New York State Fraternal Order of Police Honor Guard which serves our members at parades and special events as well as honoring our fallen brothers and sisters on National Peace Officers Memorial Day – Police Week.

We invite you to explore our website and see the many activities we are involved in.
